Andoni Perez was born and raised in Bizkaia (Northern Spain). He earned his BA in Modern languages and business management, from the University of Deusto. He holds an M.A. from CU Boulder in Hispanic literatures, and a second M.A. in literary and theatre studies and research within the European context, from the Universidad Nacional de Educación a Distancia. His research interests focus on the manifestation and evolution of socio-political constructs within literary works in 20th century Spain. His interests also include the study and use of local mythologies in the consolidation of Basque identities, in response to Spanish national discourses.
