Thomas Conners

Tommy Conners (he/him) is currently a UPenn School of Arts & Sciences Dissertation Completion Fellow who works in the fields of affect, queer, and critical race theories and US Latinx, Caribbean, and Latin American Studies. His dissertation, "New Latinx Feelings: Race, Affect, and Form in Queer Latinx Literature," looks to post-1990s literature to read feelings of racialization and sexualization within innovative literary form. Taking into account the advent of colorblindness and the mainstreaming of LGBTQ rights, this project interrogates the shifting forms, relations, and forces that place Latinx subjects at odds with whiteness, straightness, and cis-masculinity subtending a US social landscape.
