Mentorship Program for Graduate Students - Hispanic and Portuguese Studies
This peer-to-peer program is aimed to provide greater support to new and incoming graduate students in the department (first and second years) by pairing them with a peer mentor (third, fourth, fifth, or more advanced doctoral candidate). The goal is to ensure that first and second year students in the Hispanic Studies Department are integrated into the department through the guidance of a structured network that provides support through a holistic approach of the student. The program also aims to provide the basis for the creation of a collaborative network between students.
Overall, the goals of the Mentorship Program are:
- Establish a support network for first- and second-year PhD students.
- Provide both new and current students with useful resources concerning both academic and non-academic matters.
- Create a structure that facilitates integration of new students in the department.
