Amelia's research focuses on colonial literature and Mexico in the 16th and 17th centuries-- with a special emphasis on visual culture and materiality. Her dissertation aims to give light to the different processes with which the visible appears in the colonial literature as a specific form of knowledge, able to relocate and re-inscribe the subjects in the narration of the history.
