Andoni Perez was born and raised in Bizkaia (Northern Spain). He earned his BA in Modern languages and business management, from the University of Deusto. He also holds an M.A. from CU Boulder in Hispanic literatures, and a second M.A. in literary and theatre studies and research within the European context, from the Universidad Nacional de Educación a Distancia. His research interests focus on the consolidation of the anarchist and the socialist archetypes in the 20th century Spanish peninsular literature, from the revolutionary and conservative points of view. His interests also include the study and use of local mythologies in the consolidation of regional identities, opposed to the imposition of a national discourse.
