Ph.D Student, Spanish and Portuguese

Bio

Sean is a Ph.D. student in the Department of Spanish and Portuguese. Originally from Baton Rouge, Louisiana he studied and worked in Madrid, Spain before joining the Department as a Lecturer and now as a graduate student. His research interests include 20th and 21st century Spanish political identity, food studies, and media studies. He is interested in seeing how gastropolitics can be used as a tool to impose a singular national identity, and how food can be an act of resistance.
